MBI Trailers was founded in 1980 specializing in buying and selling used trailers around the United States
As the business grew it then expanded into the storage container sales and leasing. As the company grew over time it expanded into markets outside of the northeast and grew into what it is today. A worldwide operation servicing customers across the globe.
We have sold over 20,000 used trailers in the last 40 years.
Who We Are Now
In 2020 Steve Plummer purchased MBI Trailers and is dedicated to continuing to grow the business by providing the same level of superior customer service and providing great products.
Located in Scarborough ME, just minutes away from Portland, I-295 I-95, MBI Trailers has a full inventory of used trailers and containers for any number of uses. Our Inventory consists of dry vans of all sizes, refrigerated trailers, and containers of all sizes.

Meet Steve
Steve Plummer was born and raised in South Portland, ME. He was an active duty member of the United States Air Force and member of the Maine Air National Guard. After working for various communications companies over the last twenty six years, Steve made the decision to change his career path and move to the storage container and used trailer industry. With the dedication and desire that he has shown throughout his career he strives to offer superior customer service, good products, and a positive experience with everything that he does. Steve resides today in South Portland, ME with his wife Carol, son Tyler and their two Old English Bulldogs, Maggie and Winston.

MBI Trailers has two locations. The primary office is located at 68 Pleasant Hill Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074.
“The Yard” is down the road approximately one half mile and that is where all of the inventory that we have available resides.
